Guidelines for Incoming Students

These guidelines are presented to incoming students with the intent of avoiding potential misunderstandings by setting out what is expected of them, and what they might expect of the Department, during the course of their study. The majority of information contained here is aimed at PhD students, but most is relevant to all students in the Department.

These Guidelines, of course, are subject to the official regulations of the University. The PhD Handbook contains a large amount of information regarding the PhD degree and you should familiarise yourself with this important information and review it regularly. Information relating to Master of Medicine and Doctor of Medicine is available from the Faculty. Honours students are provided with specific information relating to their course requirements by the Honours Co-ordinator. The Department Manager has available copies of these documents for your information and you should acquaint yourself with those which are relevant .
